#6 The Christmas Edition

Image
Friday morning found us at the Baptist Church here in Wheatley to listen to a  Mennonite Choir. We arrived about 9:20 as it was supposed to start at 9:30. Oh my gosh, the church was almost empty. Where are all of the people? Where is the audience???  As a teacher, there are very few things that can get you fired. One of them is being late so I'm always a few minutes early so at 9:30 I realize this show is not going to get going on time. 9:35 no movement. 9:20 they start putting up mikes and testing. "Ray, I give them until 10 and then I'm out of here!" The other couple are the only people on our side of the church.    At sometime before 10 , I know that because I was still there, the choir walks in, little ones first followed by the bigger ones and take their positions. When they started singing, it was like a choir of angels. Absolutely beautiful. The church should have been packed!!! The little guy on the right stood with his father through the whole concert. This pic should have been in last weeks blog but Blogger ate it. This is the expansive field directly in front of out house. It is vibrantly green, Winter Wheat. Ray chose this pizza for dinner the other night along with wings and a salad. We have to have a salad giving the illusion that this is a healthy meal. Have you ever seen this much stuff on top of a pizza?!?!?! Vegetarian too.  This is a church on the road to Leamington. It appears to be closed. I took the pic simply because I like the look of this particular church. A couple of times there has been a car or van parked in front. Not sure what they are up to.... I know dark pic. When I came to the Bank Theatre for my acting class, I went home and told Ray that it was a very strange theatre as there were no seats. This week when we went to see the special Christmas Concert put on by the Bailey's for seniors there were seats. Lot of seats!!! Like magic!!! There were three members of the Bailey group and they played for an hour...

#4 Extraordinary Days....

I'm being haunted by teaching days. You teach kids to have a great title and a catchy first sentence to get your readers engaged.... I'm trying hard not to have this blog full of ocean  views and food. Not an easy self expectation.... I have always been drawn to the ocean. When our kids were growing up, I always told Ray I had to have a yearly dose of ocean and tried to make that happen. Later Georgian Bay became my ocean and now it is Lake Erie. I love watching the waves, listening to the water, sailing on the water but no longer swimming in it as I have seen too many nasty things that live in it!!! Have you ever wanted to see $20 worth of quarters? Well here I am to make that dream come true. When I asked Ray to get me change at the laundromat, I wasn't expecting it to come back to me all in quarters..... Do you think Max might have a tooth ache or is he just being coy? Yesterday when we were leaving for church I left first and Max was told that he wasn't coming. He...
