#8 January Stuff

On a clear day, we can see Peele Island National Park. It is the strip in the background. Pelee Island is an hour and a half ferry ride away. The only way to get there right now is to fly in from Windsor.

One day this week, my neighbour/friend from home Yvonne, messaged me that she finally had some snow. I took this pic and sent it to her. "Me too!!!"

Our marriage had always had a division of labour. Ray walks the dog and I'm on poop scoop duty. FYI - If your poop scoop bags have been in the car for years and you bought the super decomposing ones and you go to pick up the first load and see your finger inside the bag, go for the other non environmentally friendly black ones instead that you have.

Well, here I am full filling the bucket list......The camera guy was shy and didn't get all of the bottles and cans behind me. I was being heavily scrutinized as you can see by 3 other volunteers. I had such a fantastic time and made so many mistakes. Good thing I'm a quick learner....  Like you don't grab the lime and chuck it in the glass, you use the tongs or you obviously don't count the number of drinks the musicians order or the large bottle of red wine is right in front of you not in the fridge.... I knew all of this stuff but in the frantic moment totally forgot. I'm volunteering 3 more times this month and really hope to be serving at the bar....

The event Friday night was The Monarch Cafe. The guy on the left, Justin, is putting out a new vinyl record and cd his month and paid for its production via empty liquor bottles and cans so we are meeting him in Leamington on Wed. with our little collection. Next was the only woman, Melissa, who sung of her depression. She and he hottie boy friend made it to the bar. Oh, wait a minute they all did!!! I hoped her music was therapeutic. Next John also lamenting his lonely life but hoping to get married in April. Finally Jason who is an English teacher and had a good time except for the tale about almost drowning in Algonquin Park last summer. It was a really good night all around.

On Saturday we had a visit from the Lord and his Lady of our land. They brought gifts. Lots of gifts including this amazing box of chocolates. Dean - They WERE really delicious!!! It was great to catch up and share stories of the past two years since we were together last. I'm looking forward to their next visit!!!

I have two rants. The first is shopping channels. If you watch and buy from them call me right now to explain why!!! We have to watch tv for a couple of minutes before we can go to netflix and I browse channels. I can not believe the stuff they are selling and the prices. I saw this piece of jewelry offered for $11 500 and when no one bought it they reduced it to $7 000 and then they reduced it again and I changed channels. I need to know who buys and why. Fess up!!!!!

Second Rant - When you stop at a light at home, there is always about 6 feet between cars. Here it is 6 inches. I want to get out of my car and wave the guy forward another 4 inches. "Hey, that's better. See, you could have crept a tad closer and still not hit me!!!."

Have a fantastic week. Be happy and if you aren't happy, change your circumstance. Fill your dreams and dream big.
