#13 Two Sickies and a Dog

Oh we are sick. Very, very sick. It sounds like a TB ward around here. If one of us isn't coughing the other is. Ray got this dastardly bug a week ago Saturday. I was all proud because I didn't get it until....this Saturday. I started on my heavy duty meds this morning and will go back to bed once I've completed this assignment.
Part of this weeks adventure in Wheatley was the arrival of this commercial fishing boat to pick up its haul. There had been a marker out in front of our house for a few days and then the boys arrived!!! Only problem was that they loaded the gill net from the other side of the boat so I couldn't watch. I'll have to get that fixed.

On Monday we had an appointment with a vet in Leamington to get another opinion on Max's eyes. Now, don't forget that Ray was only a couple of days into the dastardly disease but I really wanted to go so off we went.....The entry way is a little awkward to say the least. Up a few stairs without a hand rail, open the heavy door and then up a batch of stairs into the open reception area. Well, Ray made quite the entrance. Max bounded up the inside stairs, sick Ray on his heals trying to keep control of him. He missed the top step and went splat onto this rug at the top of the stairs on his back. "Hi, Sheekey's. Here with Max." Thankfully he wasn't injured but it was quite the entrance for our first visit!!!

This was totally a different experience to going to our Sundridge vet who is terrified of Max and keeps giving him treats and telling him what a good boy he is. Now honestly, do you see any fear in this woman's eyes sitting beside this 119 lb. dog? I think not. It was a great appointment. She was extremely thorough and we just need to continue with the treatment that we're been doing. Her kids even came and patted him. Quite lovely.

This is the young, doesn't he look like he's twelve?, chiropodist that takes care of our nails when we are here. Again, a great guy, very caring and thorough. He is in Chatham.

Two pairs of scrappy socks for $30 ea. Called Scrappy as they are made out of scraps.

These are made with an Italian yarn called Morano and are 75% wool. $50.

These are the ones I'm currently working on. The yarn is called watermelon. It is a lighter summer yarn. $40.

A visit to Chatham wouldn't be complete without a stop at Len's Mill. These are socks to come. Let me know if you are interested.

We don't see many strangers walking around here so this surveyor caught my eye. Max didn't see him until I picked up my camera and then he is, "Hey, there must be something going on for her to move into that mode." And then the barking began and he left in a hurry.
Not sure what he was going but I'd like to.

We got introduced to these donuts 2 years ago when we stayed here. They are only produced once a year for one week so we had to have a box. $20 for 6 seems a bit steep but oh they are so delicious.

They sure don't look special but they definitely taste special!!!

And this is the donut story for you to read as I'm too sick to tell you about it....

The last activity I enjoyed, well maybe that is a stretch, out of the house was getting gas Saturday morning. Note to self, "Don't do this on Saturday morning again. All the boys are out getting their trucks filled up."

Ray always reads the blog before I publish it but not today. He's back in bed and I'm going back now. Skip the typos.

Prayers for healing would be appreciated.

See you here next Monday. In better health I hope!!!

Hugs....
